Easter

Holidays have to be such strange things for kids.  I started to realize this when Jack met Santa at Christmastime, and it was reaffirmed this Easter when he encountered the Easter Bunny at the mall.  He was fine to stand near the Bunny and look at him but he did not want to sit on his lap, and definitely did not want to give him "five".  He later asked me why the Easter Bunny didn't talk.  That does make him a little suspicious in my book too.  We had a great Easter.  We didn't attend the community egg hunt due to the combination of a couple of inches of snow on the ground, and the fact that I had a haircut scheduled.  I know, I'm a lame mom, but I didn't realize a month earlier when I scheduled it that it was Easter weekend.  We did, however, color our own Easter eggs which was a big hit!
Jack was very into the dissolving tablets.  A little too into it in fact since he got over-anxious and put the red and green tablets in the same cup.   So our Easter eggs were colored blue, purple, yellow, orange, and some weird greyish-brownish color.  Nothing goes smoothly with a helpful 2-year-old.
 . . .Easy does it
Easter morning was a huge hit.  Jack's Easter basket was chocolate-free since he's not a fan.  He reminds me constantly, "I don't like chotowit" He loved finding the eggs hidden in our living room and we repeated the game for several days until all the hard boiled eggs were cracked.  Mom had to secretly throw them out at nap time.  Easter morning was short lived as we have 9 o'clock church that's always a little tricky to get to on time.
They both looked adorable in their Easter clothes.
